what is the line
between
art and healing?

what is the boundary
between
you and me?

when did we forget
how to be held
in community?

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, DEI Facilitator, Writer, Poet, Speaker, Educator, and Podcast host, I have found myself deeply living these questions in all of the work that I do. And it has become clear to me through nearly a decade of clinical practice, and five years of being a published writer, that storytelling heals. That when we are able to speak or write our truths in the presence of safe and compassionate witnesses, something settles from deep inside.

Whether it is listening to clients’ stories in session, writing my own stories in essays and poetry form, facilitating group spaces centered around difficult conversations (i.e. grief, eating disorders and transgender/Gender Sexual Minority), interviewing transgender and non-binary folks on The Non-Binary Body Image Project, my days are filled with the feeling of connection. Because stories help us feel less alone.

So. I invite you to explore these pages with curiosity and an open heart. You’ll find essays to read, a book of poems to purchase, podcast interviews to listen to, and groups to join if you find yourself in need of a safe space to share your own courageous life.
